The Pond and Natural Beauty
This beautiful eleven acre pond (nearly a lake) provides recreation for the occasional and serious fishermen as well as aquatic recreation and exploration for the kids of all ages. We provide row boats, canoes and a paddle boat or two as well as a variety of PFD’s (life preservers). Please feel free to bring electric motors or your own hand powered watercraft. There is no charge to use our equipment but we ask that you share with other guests. Fishing has been a tradition and vital part of Buehler’s history. We try to manage the pond to ensure that it is full of and enjoyable to fish. We don’t provide fishing gear but locally there are a couple sports stores to purchase bait and other fishing supplies if needed. In the pond you’ll find Large Mouth Bass, Pickerel, a couple of Cat fish, Blue Gill, Sunnys and Pearch. Other critters that play in the pond are Snapping and Painted Turtles, Ducks, Beavers, Blue Heron, frogs and salamanders. We are graced with a visiting Bald Eagle time and again. The surrounding area is great for hiking, and many choose to take a run or stroll down the 1-mile stone road Game Room The Game Room was built in 1968 and is great for those rainy days and cool nights. It has a fireplace, ping pong, table shuffle board, board games, card tables, and piano. There is a refrigerator, microwave, and bar area for any snacks or drinks you choose to bring. The upstairs loft has a TV with DVD player - there is no cable TV. The Game Room is host to many activities, like kids talent shows and crafts. Additional Recreation and Activities Just in front of the Game Room, overlooking the pond, is the popular in ground pool with a diving board. The swingset has a swings, toddler swing, and slide. Horseshoes and volleyball in the field, tennis court and a basketball hoop. We have an old barn and currently have 2 mules, 6 Silver Laced Wyandotte chickens, 2 pigs a cat and 2 dogs. By the pond we have a big campfire pit for guests to build fires, toast s'mores, and relax! Mark gives hayrides, & there are swings overlooking pond! |
